Love in action

The lay Outreach team coordinates the ways in which we offer support to groups and organisations both within and beyond our local area. Where possible, we maintain links with the groups we support by inviting speakers to come to our services or to special events.

Every year, our Harvest Festival gifts go to the Salvation Army and to The Hollies, a residential care home within the Group. The annual Gift services send donations to the Salvation Army's Toys and Tins Appeal.

At our monthly group services, donations of essential items are collected for the Waveney Food Bank.

Overseas, we support the work of the Vidiyal Trust in Northern Kerala, in India. Pat Atkinson, one of the trustees of the Vidiyal Trust, lives in Norfolk and makes regular visits to India. Every two or three years, she visits us at one of our services to bring news.

During the year, we respond with special collections for natural disasters, and also hold an annual collection of tools for renovation and donation overseas.

During our 50th anniversary year, we have a special fundraising focus. We take our safe sanitation for granted, but 2.5 billion people worldwide still lack this basic necessity. Full details on our Toilet Twinning page.
