Safeguarding Statement

Our Commitments

We believe that every human being is made in the image of God. It follows that we should honour everyone regardless of their age, capabilities, gender or ethnicity.

Protecting the vulnerable, whether adults or children, is a responsibility of all in Christian Ministry; we cannot be satisfied until we have done all in our power to protect them from harm. We will do all we can to make our churches a safe haven. In accordance with the Church of England Safeguarding Policy our churches are committed to:

  • Promoting a safer environment and culture in every way possible
  • Safely recruiting and supporting all those with any responsibility related to children, young people and vulnerable adults within the church
  • Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation
  • Caring pastorally for victims and survivors of abuse, or other affected by it
  • Caring pastorally for those against whom concerns or allegations are raised, or other affected by such
  • Responding to those that may pose a present risk
  • Following the guidelines and procedures published by the Church of England
